One Place to Look Working Group
Update to Libraries Nova Scotia

The Working Group met on June 30, 2010 and reached consensus that it is feasible to look at a shared next-gen OPAC which can reflect needs of users in all library types.

The group developed preliminary criteria for evaluation of next-gen OPAC vendors, and members agreed to help put together a jurisdictional scan.

The group recommends the following for completion of a report and
recommendation:

  • Complete jurisdictional scan, October 2010
  • Meet to discuss criteria for vendor evaluation, October 2010
  • Identify vendors to evaluate, November 2010
  • Complete vendor evaluation, December 2010
  • Report and recommendation to LNS Steering Committee, March 2011

A OPTL section will be set up on the LNS website to hold OPTL information.
